I watched the video's last night, it was good to see Glenn Seabolt in there, brings back memories, for those of you that did not know him, the man always had a smile on no matter what, you would not meet a nicer person.
We need some more old stuff like this to look at, kinda makes me fill old and I'm only 38, but have been around this sport for the past 28 years, so guess I have seen alot different people and trucks over the years. Please post more if you can, thanks.

i have a wide collection of old school racing on dvd- from local stuff to national stuff-- gary had heard i wanted to do a hall of fame and he offered the great stuff you all saw. so thanks to gary for his preservation of those events and allowing us to use them for all to see. some of the videos are from 91- almost 17-18 years ago- and some of the guys on there are still going at it. ill bring some with me to any races i attend and we can all meet up at someones trailer and watch them. _________________ Dusty DeGraffenried

I first met Seabolt at Coweta raceway near Atlanta. The "Dixie Mud Dobber" was his trucks name(now thats going way back). A few years later Chad"instant T" Miller and I got to go to ARUBA with Glen Seabolt and Doug "fat cat" McClung. Greg Fuchs put the deal together(the NMRO track guy). We actually got paid to go!!! We had a blast! It was a once in a lifetime trip. I am very thankfull I got to go race on the Island!
Rest in peace Glen... _________________ Tom Marsh

Intruder, you are correct, that's going way back, heck I even seen Mrs. Darlene drive the old Mud Dobber at a track that was not even a quarter of a mile from where I live, I can still see Mr. Glenn in the Mud Dobber in Augusta Ga. at a track that was owned and operaterd by Ennis and Nancy Thomas, Mr. Glenn always had a cigar in his mouth and a beer by his side while he was going down the track, lol, I will look for some old pics of those days and try to post, later.

There are some people who are sure HALL OF FAME racers like Ennis Thomas, Tony Lanes, Seabolt, Jim & Paula Harbuck, Jim McConnvil, Tom Meants, Tom Martin, Ron Pense, Chad Miller, Gary Osteen and Tim Wheelus are all easy choices in my opinion. But there are a lot more that should be mentioned. Guys that I think played a big part in our sport. Like John Casteel and Leonard Henderson (southern guys) or even Gary Mink and Todd Blancett (west coast). I'm sure a lot of guys are eager to see what you've (Dusty) have come up with. _________________ Tom Marsh

Dang man, you are reaching way down into the hat to pull these name's out, John Casteel (Black Gold & Ghost Rider), Leonard Henderson (Avenger), I remember alot of the truck name's, like Quick & Nasty, Walkin Tall, War Horse, Leagl Speed, Sand Man, just to name a few, that's back when it was a lot of fun, heads up racing.

hey intruder- i would like to talk to you and chad both- alot of videos i have have you guys flying and it seems you sometimes had a knack for jumping berms! i also have some old usa motorsports homemade vid from the arena days-- but yes just from area- mconville.pense,hibdon,harbucks.krumms all were regulars here in midwest before they left the little shows to travel all over. definitley the guys you mentioned were the face of the sport back in the day- and i think that is what is missing from the sport today- recognition. _________________ Dusty DeGraffenried

I have a program from the "USA MOTOR SPECTACULAR" tour in the 1980's that features "Dirty Ernie Hibdon and T'23". And who could forget Dave Cook and his Jet car. Mike Fair(Great White Hope), Steve and Mike Bareman(Chemical Reaction), John Runner (Black Magic & Widow maker) All did great things for the sport. I think if you were to name the person most responsible for making mud racing into a recognized Motorsport it would be Gary Baker. Yea we had USA, TNT, USHRA (who had CAMEL) for the indoor circuts, but it was Baker that stepped up and formed the NMRO and ran the "ALL STAR NATIONALS" point series races and shaped the classes that helped get us where we are today. _________________ Tom Marsh

I talked to David Ray at the NHRA event in Norwalk, Ohio last year. He was driving an alcohol funny car. I remember racing with Ray and Spina up in the SKY DOME in Toronto, Canada (Instant T kicked everybodies a$$ both days). I think Skip Collins had one of the first rear engine cars around. Look how many there are now! Another guy I just thought of is Mike Erdliy and Mud Shark(sorry about the spelling of your name mike). _________________ Tom Marsh
