After some deliberation, it was decided that we would publish the proposed Pit rules and allow discussion for 2 weeks. All of these classes have "names", but for the sake of discussion, we will be referring to them by number - classes 1-8. Class 2 is faster than 1, 3 faster than 2, etc. I find that sometimes when people see a class "name", they have a preconceived notion of what that class is or "should" be. So, the names are off for now & we'll reinsert them once they are complete. Also, please keep some things in mind:
1) Though these are not set in stone, the basic foundation is there. Don't ask to completely revamp a class, don't ask for additional classes to be inserted into the mix, and please don't ask for a class to be split into 2 classes. Minor tweaks are all we're really looking for here.
2) Please try to be concise with your comments & keep them separate. If you want to change 2 things on a class, please try to talk about the 1st change by itself & the 2nd one by itself rather than mixing them up together.
3) If you don't see "your" class here, do not panic. If we were to cover 95% of the trucks out there with classes, we'd have at least 40 classes. That isn't practical. We would expect the majority of promoters out there to look at these 8 classes and say, "Gee, there's only 3 or 4 of these I can even use". Some, not even that many. We encourage every group out there to use as many of these as you can, and keep as many of your own local classes as necessary. The odds of
all these classes working for your local group will be pretty slim.
4) The 3 fastest classes here are not typically utilized in bog pits in many parts of the country. Just because you see this class listed here, don't assume your local promoter is going to run these classes or anything like them.
5) Don't assume a "majority opinion" on this discussion board constitutes a change. Only the reps have the authority to make changes. And the people who will comment on these rules will represent only a tiny fraction of the racers who will have to live with them. We've already researched out as many rules as possible, and collected countless comments from all over the country. So, if 20 guys get on here & say, "I think the tire size in class 3 should be ___" and nobody disagrees, DO NOT assume that's what will happen. All of the proposed rules are in place for a reason. If we can make a change to these rules that will help some guys WITHOUT hurting those the class was designed for, it
might happen. Regardless, we WILL take a look at all your suggestions, and we will take these suggestions very seriously.
6) Try to keep the discussion on topic. I will start a separate thread for each of the 8 classes. Please don't make class 5 comments in the class 3 thread, etc.
7) Please, try to refrain from asking, "Why would you do that?" regarding these classes. Again, we have reasons for all of the rules. And rather than a back & forth arguement, we will try to keep the comments limited to "suggested changes".

I'm not posting these rules until tonight, so please don't go looking for them now
