I was at elko racing first of month where my husband and I participate every month and a truck that I thought the world of and respected has disappointed me now. After Hours was there and was a participate and was standing making fun of everyone's truck. where fellow drivers heard this conversation. I feel that is poor sportsmanship on his part most of these fellows work very hard and perform there own mechanical and truck preparation with their own 2 hands. How anyone who had to go purchase a truck ready to roll for that kind of money would have the nerve to make fun of the little man who does all the sweating and all he can out of pocket. For all the money he has put out who is the idiot now. My respect for this truck and this man is gone. Will not talk good about this truck anymore. Shawn ? who!!!.
Shame that we had wonderful conversation with Shawn's dad in Jacksonville very wonderful man.
There seems to be more little men and self made trucks at all races we attend.

we are all in this for fun why can't all enjoy!!!!!!!

Being a friend of Shawn and watching him race before he bought jiggy I’ll say he is a good sport and respects every racer. He didn’t build the truck, but like many racers he knows if you want to win buy a truck that's a winner. Is it the easy way? maybe, but that class of truck has to have constant changes and upkeep to win, which he will learn and do with success. The bad side of owning a truck like After Hours is some people aren’t going to like you just because. If he were in a lower class truck maybe his comment would have been overlooked or just laughed at. I like to pick more than anybody and my comments are also taken wrong sometimes. I’ve been picking about the Grinch, but hope everybody gets the idea of how much I respect the truck, the driver and whoever built it. I don't mean any harm by the things I say. It's just my honest thought and dry sense of humor and knowing Shawn that’s what he meant as well. _________________ http://myspace.com/rabbitmudracing

As a MRA Representative - I am asking you all, As well as any others that post on this forum to Please refrain from any personal comments about other racers or anyone else for that matter. This is not the place for it and it is not the image we care to project to the public.
I felt this needed to be said at this time in an effort to discourage this sort of thing in the future. I am not trying to single anyone out. (i do not really know either party) and am not making any judgements in this matter.
Thank you for you help, your understanding and your cooperation on this subject. _________________ terry slocum

I'm with Terry on this one. This is exactly the kind of thing that can be misconstrued & misunderstood. And what may have been a nothing issue can get blown completely out of proportion.

I am with Mr. Terry, and Mr. Scott I think if fans log on and see stuff like this It is not plesent, I don't even like seeing it, I know sometimes it happens at the track, but if you have a problem confront them man and talk like men and I bet it can be worked out, I have been around for a long time and have seen this alot and even been in the middle of fights that were not mine, but to shut it all down I put my title on the line just to stop the problem even knowing i was out classed, and have lost a truck. to Duke B. a man down here, I say let the trucks do the talking, I build my own stuff cause I do not have alot of money, but If someone works hard for there money and want to buy a winning truck more power to ya, we have a man down here in Mississippi that has bought all 3 of his trucks he has a truck that can run in almost any class, but my poor ass have put the truck to shame and watch others do the same, anyone can be beat on any given day, wether it has been built by your own two hands or bought. I like my to hand on my truck cause I know what has been done and can change it at a race. But I hate to see fellow racer fued over pitty stuff. Like the sticker says RUN YOUR TRUCK NOT YOUR MOUTH. And it will turn out better for the fans and racers , I will probably never get to meet most of ya'll cause of distance, and fuel kills me just to drive to work, lol, but I do hope sometime by the end of this year to take a trip that way and meet and race some of ya'll, and see the diffrence between trucks from the south and north. One day i would like to get an even somewhere in the middle, north vs. south class teams I think it would be an awsome event. what ya'll think? well hope all is well now between everyone. _________________ Fat Rich...."Rebel Hill Racing"........"If you can't Dog it Don't Bog it" MRA # 151, PIT Classes 4,5,6. I CANT SAY WHAT WAS & WASN'T SAID HOWEVER I MET SHAWN AND HIS CREW FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FLORANCE S.C. AND HAD A BLAST WITH THEM. I CAN'T SEE HIM CUTTING DOWN ANYONES RIDE UNLESS IT WAS IN A JOKEING MANNER.
THATS MY TAKE ON IT FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH!

Also, that's not the first mud racer named After Hours. Vic Yarnelli drove one in the late 1980's and early 1990's. But yeah, good sportsmanship is necessary.

After Hours. Glad the two of you were able to talk about this and get a simple issue resolved. BUT after yesterday I also may have to question your sportsmanship! You made me loose 2 bets on the outlaw class yesterday!! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER!, i paid 1 bet and have to buy a steak supper to the other person i lost to. I'll take my losses and pay up because of the good sportsman that I am.
Edit Monday 11:30am. The more I think about it, I want to double the same bet next month at C'town! I'm gonna put a little pressure on ROHO!
See ya'll at Neeses!! _________________ http://myspace.com/rabbitmudracing
